What does your property number mean?

Find out what your property number means and what it can do

If you love everything mystique and hold true to superstitions (even if you do think they’re a bit silly…) you’ll love this article.

But even if you have no time for that nonsense, there’s definitely an upside to staying abreast of popular beliefs such as those found in numerology.

At the very least it could make an investment property that much more attractive for a prospective tenant. Who are we to argue with them if they believe that living at your rental property will bring them good fortune solely from it being number 7!

Like similar theories in numerology, to work out your property number add the digits of your property number until you get to a single figure. For example, if you live at 507 then you would add 5 + 0 + 7 to get 12, then you would add 1 + 2 to get 3. So 3 is your number. Simple!

Below is our guide to what the numbers mean.

property number
1 = independence, a fresh start ALSO busy busy busy!

Number one promotes innovation, ingenuity, ambition, drive and leadership. This is a wonderful home to live in for the self-employed, especially if working from home, or if there are people living together who wish to maintain their autonomy and freedom. Living here can strengthen character, determination and self-confidence.

Challenges: A number 1 property can foster too much independence and minimize cooperation and harmony. Not ideal for singles or those who are prone to loneliness, as this home can have too much “self” energy and not as much partnering.

2 = intimacy, creativity, patience ALSO passive, indecisive

This home is sure to be a loving, cosy atmosphere, where others will always feel welcome, nurtured, and loved. The energy of 2 is sentimental and sensitive, so this is a lovely place for those who enjoy being surrounded by photographs of family and friends, and having people over for intimate gatherings, especially where feelings are expressed and affection is shared.

Challenges: Since 2 lends itself to strong feelings, sometimes people can feel overly sensitive here. They can feel overwhelmed with emotions and need to go outside or do more physical activities to get grounded.

3 = social, family-friendly, open (a lucky number in China but unlucky in the Middle East) ALSO loose, messy, chaos

3 is a fun, vivacious number, so this is a wonderful place to have lively social gatherings. It is a highly creative vibration. This is a wonderful home best suited for artists, singles, couples or families, or anyone who loves to live life to the fullest and express themselves with joy.

Challenges: This energy can lend itself to you being scattered, unfocused, or spending too much money.

house number
4 = safety, security, commitment ALSO inflexible, conservative

This is a solid, secure, protected environment. 4 is the most grounded vibration of all, and relates to the earth, real estate and physical structures. This would be a great place for investments, whether it is related to properties, stocks, finances, or even education.

Challenges: 4 is the slowest and most grounded of all the numbers, so if doesn’t promote adventure, variety, excitement, or innovation.

5 = gregarious, night owl, gypsies, forever young ALSO over the top, nomadic

The number 5 loves to party so there is never a dull moment. 5 is the most gregarious of all the numbers so this is a great place for people who love having people over and entertaining guests. There are always surprises with 5, so if you love excitement and adventure, you’ve found the right place.

Challenges: This is not the place for quiet reflection or stability.  A 5 home is best avoided if you are prone to addiction of any sort.

6 = productive, beautiful, nurturing ALSO posturing, constant maintenance

Perfect for families, couples, or artists, this home will inspire beauty, love and harmony. Almost every type of person can feel happy in a 6 home.

Challenges:  Some might like being at home so much they never want to leave!

7 = environmentally friendly, personal space, nature ALSO hermit, single

Mystics, writers, researchers, or spiritual seekers of any sort, will love living here. 7 is a private vibration, and can be somewhat secretive. It inspires deep thought, reflection, and powerful insight.

Challenges: Not great for entertaining or to party, so some can find they go a little stir-crazy. It came be isolating or lonely at times.

8 = profitable (this is a money number in China, links to good returns in the long-term) ALSO no shortcuts

Entrepreneurs or people who are career driven in any way will love this place! 8 is a number of prosperity and abundance, so any financial endeavour will be promoted here. Physical activities that require strength will be energized.

Challenges: 8 is a number that teaches you about money and abundance, so you can have big gains here as well as big losses. There is a temptation to focus too much on career and material items.

9 = welcoming, warm ALSO clutter, hoarder

Everyone is welcome in a 9 home! People will be drawn to your home because of the loving energy there. 9 is an international number, so you might feel the need to travel, or welcome visitors from other parts of the world.

Challenges: This address is particularly suited to groups but isn’t ideal for families who want a lot of alone time.

So there you have it. A quick guide to what your property number means. Interestingly, in 2014 realesate.com.au did an analysis of the previous 12 months to see if there were any trends or patterns relating to the street number of sold properties around Australia. This is what they found –

  • The number 3 was the highest selling street number for the period
  • The next most sold street numbers were 4, 5, 6, 7 (and in that order!)
  • Street numbers that recorded the highest number of top sales prices included 2, 3, 4, 7, 9

Take it or leave it, we won’t judge you either way.
